Since
the closure of the Café on a Monday I have received several comments from
individuals about how sad they are that it is no longer running. One young mum I
bumped into in the Car Park had come with her young child especially for a trip
out for a sandwich to give us a try and another family who had just started to
come on a regular basis expressed their disappointment as they enjoyed the
company and time out together as four generations sat down to lunch! I know that
the Café project team will be constantly monitoring progress. I do hope that
perhaps with some further investigation and with willing volunteers we may be
able to re-launch a midweek café. Whilst our café needs to make a profit for
it to be viable, vast profit margins should never be uppermost in our minds for
surely
part of the ethos of the café project is about offering a service to the people
of Castleford. A service that is offered with God’s love even over a bowl of
soup or sandwich after all a lot of Jesus’ work and sharing was done over a
meal table!
 Please
pray for the Café project, for our focus for it’s clients and again consider
whether you could offer some time once in a while to help out.
